Takara Belmont is a third-generation Japanese family business manufacturing health and beauty furniture, dating back to 1921. The company’s story is one of a small family run business in Japan to the world’s most innovative salon equipment brand.

From traditional barber chairs to motorised luxury styling and spa chairs, their accomplishments have reshaped the hairdressing and beauty industry.

We worked closely with Takara’s team at every step to deliver a fully bespoke website which needed to reflect their innovation and industry leading standards as well as the myriad of products they offered.

The multi-lingual build would feature scrolling transitional effects whilst still prioritising information over animation on mobile devices.

The focus of the site is the Equipment pages. Here we would showcase an interactive 3D model of products. Product specifications such as colour and upholstery ranges, measurements and customisable options are then organised in a tabular layout for improved UX.

Takara’s timeline of almost 100 years of innovation was also something we wanted to highlight, so an interactive ‘Innovation Timeline’ was produced, featuring a multitude of transitional and parallaxing effects showing Takara’s impressive history and impact on the hairdressing and beauty industry across the world.
